Here are the BOB winners: Judge Stacie Easton, Charlotte with BOB French AND BOB Giant, Nikki with BOB Satin, and Jessica with BOB English. Charlotte also won Best in Show with her French. The award is in front of her; its an engraved hurricane candle. The BOB winners received frosted glass ornaments with a picture of their breed engraved on it.

Show expenses were $156.90 and income was $233.50, so the net income to the club is $76.60.

There is an angora specialty planned for the Mineral Wells, WV show on Saturday, May 8th.  With open shows hosted by the Blennerhassett and Southern WV rabbit clubs, it gives you the chance to show three times in one day.  This is a beautiful show in a lovely setting, with the most hospitable of hosts.

The show had less entries than expected due to the snowstorm that weekend, but still did fairly well.   The show income was $509.00 and the expenses were $340.00, showing a profit of $169.

The show was well attended, with 58 rabbits entered. 34 EA, 15 FA, 1 GA, 8 SA. There were 8 EA exhibitors, 7 FA, 1 GA, and 4 SA. One of our FA breeders got lost in Marietta and arrived just as the show was ending, which would have
added 10-12 more FA.
The expenses for the show were $122.10, and income from entries and the raffle were $222.00, so the club made $100 total. Much of the profit was due to donations of raffle items, judge’s gift, and prizes for the winners. So a great THANK YOU to those who made these donations, and to the exhibitors who supported the show!

Don’t forget the UARC specialty show in Marietta, Ohio on Saturday, October 3rd.  It’s held in conjuction with the Blennerhassett show at the Washington County fairgrounds in Marietta.   Check in is at 8AM, with the shows starting at 9AM.  Entry fee is $3.50 per rabbit.   Prizes for BOB, BOS, and a very special prize for Best in Show (of all 4 angora breeds)

Here is an example of roving made from a blend of wool and angora. I used a natural colored Bluefaced Leicester (BFL) lambswool fleece from my ewe, Jillian, and blended it with fawn French Angora. The angora is 55% of the blend, done for me by Stonehedge Fiber Mill in Michigan. The resulting yarn is baby soft, and has lots of bloom from the angora. It spins up heathery shades of taupe – not quite grey, not quite brown.
